Hair care
Make one install last three.
Raw hair is an investment. Treated properly, a bundle set carries you through multiple installs — here is the routine we actually follow.
The routine
Six steps, start to finish
Wash
Co-wash every 10 to 14 days with a sulfate-free cleanser. Work downward from the weft — never scrub upward, that is what creates knots.
Condition
Deep condition for 20 minutes, focusing on the last four inches. Rinse cool so the cuticle lays flat and keeps its shine.
Dry
Air dry in two loose sections or blow dry on low with a nozzle. Do not sleep on wet extensions — that is the fastest way to matting.
Style
Heat protectant every time, 300°F or below. Raw hair can take more, but staying low is what buys you a second and third install.
Sleep
Braid loosely or pineapple, then wrap in silk or satin. Cotton pillowcases pull moisture straight out of the ends.
Maintain
Trim a quarter inch every six to eight weeks and oil the ends, not the roots of the weft. Rotate bundles between installs.
Always
- Detangle from the ends up with a wide-tooth comb
- Use sulfate-free and alcohol-free products
- Store bundles flat or hanging, never crushed in a drawer
- Rinse chlorine and salt water out the same day
Never
- Brush while soaking wet
- Sleep without wrapping or braiding
- Apply heavy grease or wax to the weft
- Colour past two shades lighter without a professional
